Job Description

As a member of the senior team you will play a major part in setting the strategic growth plans for this already established business. It is a great chance to make a real impact on a business and play a key role in driving it forward.

Our client is a division of one of the UKs larger food groups; mainly operating in traditional chilled categories with products with complexity. Their customers include all major retailers with a significant share in their category. It is the plan to drive product innovation for the future and further develop the existing ranges, setting benchmark to enable them to do this effectively they require a new layer of expertise to support and further develop the team.

This is a fantastic opportunity, for an experienced Product Developer looking for the next advancement in their career. As Head of Innovation you will be responsible for taking ownership of the development function raising food standards and working practices ensuring team accountability, for defending existing product ranges and exploring new. It is imperative to continue to deliver customer confidence, forging long term trusted relations and working cross functionally with internal teams working together to challenge boundaries. A strong commercial acumen as well as an understanding of packaging is important, with the foresight to consider the product much wider than product itself.

To be successful in this role you will need to have a proven track record of product development and a full understanding of process delivery along with a number of years direct customer contact. You will need to possess an approachable, logical and pervasive management style with outstanding food skills.
