Edinburgh's Balmoral appoints head chef at its Michelin-starred Number One restaurant
Rocco Forte's Balmoral hotel in Edinburgh has appointed a new head chef at its Michelin-starred restaurant, Number One.
Former sous chef Billy Boyter has returned to the restaurant,
having previously worked there from 2006 to 2010. He has joined
from Wilde Thyme Event Catering.
Boyter started his career in Pitlochry, Perthshire, at Scotland's
Hotel. He has worked at Scottish restaurants including Ballathie
House Hotel and the Michelin-starred Restaurant Martin Wishart in
Edinburgh.
As head chef of Number One, Boyter will work closely with the
Balmoral's executive chef, Jeff Bland.
Commenting on the appointment, Boyter said: "I am delighted to be
back in the heart of Edinburgh's only Michelin-starred hotel
restaurant.
"Number One has an excellent reputation which I'm honoured to be a
part of and I look forward to working with Jeff Bland and
restaurant manager Gary Quinn in continuing to provide an
outstanding culinary experience at number one."
The Balmoral recently appointed Franck Arnold as its new general
manager. He took over from Ivan Artolli in August, who was promoted
to director of operations for the Rocco Forte Collection's
properties in the UK, Belgium and Eastern Europe
